London Launch Event Success Gets Adaptive Planning’s UK and Ireland Operation Off to a Flying Start

The prestigious Savoy Hotel in London was the venue for last week’s Adaptive Planning UK and Ireland launch event, with a full agenda and active outreach attracting a packed audience of almost 200 to our briefing.

The launch event provided an ideal platform to introduce Adaptive Planning to the UK and Ireland market, while the impressive turnout and strong representation from senior level finance execs and CFOs confirmed that there’s a strong demand for a next generation approach to budgeting, forecasting and planning.

We were delighted to welcome the company’s Founder and President, Rob Hull, who gave the keynote address and set the agenda by first establishing just what constitutes today’s best practice in planning and budgeting. As a former CFO, Rob’s message clearly resonated with the audience – particularly those who were still struggling with Excel to get out their budgets and forecasts!

Gary Simon, Managing Editor of FSN – one of the UK’s leading specialist publications aimed at Financial Directors and CFOs – then gave an independent perspective on the value that cloud-based solutions can bring to corporate performance management.  Gary felt that the impressive attendance at the launch underlined the current high level of interest in cloud-based CPM offerings – and felt this was particularly important given research he quoted that showed that only 1% of organisations delivered forecasts that were accurate to within 5%. Given the current global economy, Gary concluded by saying: there’s no reason at all to continue using spreadsheets now that cloud solutions can do it much better.”

Attendees also heard from NetSuite’s EMEA Managing Director Paul Auffermann, who detailed the need to fit SaaS solutions together to drive success. Rob Hull then shared the stage with two local partners – Clear Plan and Miagen, and hosted an interactive session with five of their customers – Alternative Futures Group, Ramsay Health Care, Regent’s College London, Source and Working Links – who shared their experiences using Adaptive Planning.

According to Corinne Steer, Adaptive Planning’s Marketing Director for the UK and Ireland: “having such a successful launch event gives us a great platform for our local direct operation. It’s clear there’s real interest in our cloud-based solutions, and we look forward to building on our initial success over the coming months.”
