2.       Read as many customer reviews as you can.

There’s no stronger endorsement of a product than a customer review. So get your hands on customer success stories and customer success videos. Read third-party sources like technology magazines, industry forums, or any other place where customers speak openly about their experiences. Yes, reviews from industry experts are also valuable. But customer reviews give you a glimpse into your potential future.

Also, pay attention to the types of customers a technology vendor has. Are any customers in your industry? Do some of the most successful, fast-growing companies use this solution? Associate your company with a customer base that either holds your same attributes, or attributes you’re striving for. If a technology vendor doesn’t have customer success stories, it’s time to take your investment elsewhere.

3.       Partner with Best in Class VARs, MSPs

Some partners are best in class for a reason. The top resellers and service providers are most likely to be unbiased and more focused on finding the right solution for you. Starting your search by finding high-quality resellers and partners isn’t a bad idea either. The best businesses will likely lead you to the best solutions.
